London, 15 September 2009
The forthcoming London Restaurant Festival (October 8th- 13th) is already generating huge excitement among the foodie community, but few of its events are being as keenly awaited as the transformation of the Merlin Entertainments London Eye into a unique revolving ‘pop-up’ restaurant. Each night over the course of the six-day festival a different chef will cook for ten lucky diners, who will eat in a capsule converted into a dining room. Today the final line-up of chefs has been confirmed and it contains some of the biggest names on the capital’s restaurant scene.
The event kicks off with Richard Corrigan from Corrigan’s of Mayfair on the evening of the 8th. Hot on his heels will be Gordon Ramsay on the 9th. The night of the 10th October sees Francesco Mazzei from L’Anima in the kitchen, followed by Vineet Bhatia of Rasoi Vineet Bhatia on the 11th. The eagerly awaited Zuma Restaurant will have their chef Ross Shonhan on board on the 12th October which promises to be an amazing night of the very best Japanese contemporary dining in London. The event closes on the 13th with Tong Chee Hwee from London’s Hakkasan restaurant.
