Mayor of London announces tourism boost on the London Eye

Boris Johnson the Mayor of London visited The London Eye on Monday morning to announce a £2 million investment into a campaign to lure overseas visitors to the capital. The campaign is expected to result in an extra £60 million being spent in London. Speaking on the London Eye on the first day of British Tourism Week, the Mayor said that London is now better value for money than ever.

"Only in London you can visit the historic Houses of Parliament in the morning, ride the London Eye in the afternoon and see a wonderful West End show before you decide which of the world's cuisines to sample in its many restaurants," he said. "Overseas visitors will see the only limit to their enjoyment will be not having enough hours in the day to fit it all in."
